This is the view of the lagoon from our room. As you can see, it has breakers in place to dampen the waves coming in from the ocean. This allows for an enjoyable time for everyone regardless of their swimming capabilities.

The beach area in front of the lagoon is a guest only area, but the lagoon itself is shared with another neighboring property, Disney Aulani. It is important to note that the two properties sharing the one lagoon at no time caused any inconvenience.

The staff at the lagoon were quite helpful and went above an beyond in setting up our chairs and ensuring that we were well looked after during our time on the beach.

Behind the Outrigger above, you can see the Activity Booth manned by the staff in the blue shirts. Here you could ask for snorkeling gear or other accessories to enjoy your time at the lagoon. I did go snorkeling, but must admit that the water at the time was a little too murky to be able to clearly see too far ahead underwater.

I did bring an underwater camera with me, however the pictures were not clear enough, due to the water, to be able to show on this post.

Below is a picture of the Disney Aulani that shared the lagoon with the Four Seasons Oahu at Ko Olina. You can see a clear separation on the beach of the two properties. I will note that their area of the beach did seem a little more congested than the Four Seasons side. We did actually do a personal tour of the Disney resort and much of the pool area seemed to be under renovation at the time and could be a main cause for the crowded conditions on their side of the beach. Unless you are a big Disney fan and have small children, the Four Season property was much more comfortable and clean.

Below if the Family Pool (the large round one), except for briefly sitting there on our first day, we did not utilize this pool. It seemed to be mainly occupied with parents with very young children who were not quite ready for the lagoon or the busier Children's Pool that can be seen to the upper right of the main Family Pool.

All the pools were illuminated at night, and they were quite beautiful.

Below is the Adult Only Infinity Pool. This was by far the busier of the pools and it provided a quiet respite from the busier lagoon and family pools.

However, as it was quite busy, we did find from time to time that there were no chairs available and we needed to put our names on the waiting list. They would text us when our spots became free. I would recommend going early in the day should you be looking to spend your day at this pool.

On our second day, we made use of one of the cabanas.

The cost of the cabana rental also includes a complimentary bottle of champagne.

The cabanas came fully stocked and included a tv, mini-fridge, and sunscreen package for you to keep.

Next to the Adult Infinity Pool was a jacuzzi.

We also made use of the Fitness Facility and the Spa.

It was actually empty at the time, which made it very enjoyable not having to wait for any equipment.

They even have Peloton Bikes, and this made me very happy as I have always wanted to try one out. If you are a Peolton member, you could log into the bike using your ID to keep an accurate track of your workouts. I loved it so much that I have now purchased my own Peloton!

They have a Tennis Court as well.

There was a jacuzzi in the spa and also a sauna.

We were not disappointed by the beauty of the sunset, it was spectacular. I would recommend a few things in preparation if you are going to experience this for yourself. Make sure you bring sunglasses and wear cool clothing as the intensity of the sun is in full effect, and bring a light jacket for later once the sun is down. This, of course is dependent upon the weather.

I do need to admit that we were a little disappointed in the quality of the food as we had heard great things about Spago. The portions were quite large, however the flavouring of the meal delivered did not seem to match the description provided in the menu. The staff were very understanding and did replace one of our plates without charge.

We actually split the salad appetizer as the staff recommended this since the portion of salad was a meal in itself, although listed as an appetizer. The salad was quite good.

On our next night at the Four Seasons Maui, we decided to enjoy dinner in our suite since it was quite spacious and had a separate dining area.

Again the portions were quite large, but the meal was quite enjoyable. We ordered salad, pasta, and a sandwich.

On the third night, we decided to venture off of the resort and sample one of the nearby restaurants. The concierge recommended the we try Monkeypod Kitchen as it was a favourite among the locals in Maui. We made use of the hotel's house car and had them drop us off at thr restaurant. We did share the ride with another couple staying at the hotel, but as it was a large SUV, this was not an inconvenience. We were also able to call the hotel once we we were ready to return to the hotel and they picked us up in front of the restaurant.

During our stay, we had breakfast every morning at DUO, which offered a a large buffet located with a view in front of the family pool.

We chose to be seated on the patio area in front of the pool to enjoy the cool morning breeze and for the nice view. A recommendation that I have is that you ask to be seated here if it is your preference as we found on the first 2 days the staff would tend to lead us into a more enclosed area of the restaurant and we needed to ask to have the seating we preferred. If it is not immediately available, the wait is not too long as there are plenty of tables and the turnover of tables was quite frequent.

The donut display was very cute.

As you can see, there was a large selection of food to choose from. We quite enjoyed the Mango Hawaiian Sweet Bread.

As you walk from the main lobby of the hotel towards the sound of the ocean, you are taken aback by the beauty of the fountain overlooking the large family pool are with the beach in the background.

Having arrived at the hotel in the early afternoon, this was the perfect place for us to relax and while we waited for our room to be prepared. We had made use of the early arrival lounge to change into our swim suites and enjoyed the pool and the poolside amenities while we waited for them to text us that our room was ready (complete details on the arrival lounge and room can be found in my 1st blog post of the Four Seasons Maui at Wailea here).

The Family Pool is quite large with a beautiful rain fountain in the center as well as jacuzzis at either end. The pool side staff were very attentive and quickly assisted us in getting settled.

The Serenity Pool is an Adult only area and is located away from the main areas of the hotel to provided an even more secluded and relaxing environment.

As you climb the short staircase up to the Serenity Pool, you are provided with great views of the ocean and the Four Seasons Maui beach area.

On arrival at the Serenity Pool, the staff will greet you and ask you what type of chair you prefer: sun, shade, or a mix of both. They will set up your chair for you, and if on the off chance your first request was not available, they will keep an eye out for an opening for you and let you know when one is available.

Of course, there was a swim up bar.

There were plenty of deck chairs around the pool, but for a little more intimacy, you could rent a private cabana.

There were also various hot tubs available.

The Serenity Pool was definitely our favourite location to relax.

In addition to the family pool and the serenity pool, there is also a kids pool.

The Four Seasons Maui Pools and Beach areas were all equipped with water and sunscreen stations.

On our third day, we ventured down to the beach. Again, the staff were great in getting our chairs set up and making sue that we had everything we needed.

The ocean was very warm and the waves were very active. For stronger swimmers, it was a lot of fun to play in the surf.

I would caution that many people lost personal items, sunglasses, hats, etc. in the rough water. Best to leave these things with a friend or family member on the beach or with the staff.

The Four Seasons Maui Pools and Beach areas were simply amazing, and as mentioned previously, they really have an area to fit any type of environment that you are looking to enjoy.

The spacious and bright lobby of the resort provides a great first impression with views of the floors of the hotel as well as large windows showcasing the beauty of their location in Ko Olina.

The Concierge Desk was always staffed and the team was always able to answer any questions we had or accommodate any requests.

We stayed in a Prime Corner Oceanfront room with spectacular views of the lagoon and Ko Olina.

From our balcony, we could also see the Disney Aulani Resort next door. It was in easy walking distance from the Four Season Oahu and their guest also shared access to the lagoon.

The large round pool below our balcony was the Family Pool.

On our spacious second balcony we had complete privacy and a small table.

The room was beautifully laid out and with plenty of space.

We had a King Bed which was extremely comfortable and the closet easily handled all of clothes, which was impressive as we had packed for a 2 week trip to Hawaii. We stayed at the Four Seasons Oahu for 3 nights.

Inside the closet was a beach bag that we could use during our stay. It was also available for us to purchase for $90 USD.

A wonderful layout of fruits was waiting for us when we arrived in our room.

The bathroom was immaculate and quite large.

We really enjoyed the fact that there were to separated sink areas, on wither side of the bathroom. This allowed for for us to use the bathroom at the same time, cutting down on waiting and allowing for us to get out and enjoy the property quickly each day.

It has a wonderful soaker tub with Bulgari amenities.

The room was equipped with an espresso machine and fridge. The fridge came in handy to keep the fruit we received fresh throughout our stay.

The total area of the room was 59㎡ (635 square feet), and although this may be small for a resort hotel room, the corner unit allowed it to feel quite spacious and we never found it to be too small.

We were also treated to a beautiful view of a rainbow from our balcony.

Although we did not dine at Noe, the Italian restaurant at the Four Seasons Oahu, it is highly recommended by guests.

On our first night, we chose to dine poolside at La Hiki.

The large bread pan served at the start of our meal made for a perfect introduction to our meal and had us excited about the food yet to come.

Our appetizers were a salad and crab cake.

The portions for the meal were quite generous and easily shared.

We also had the buffet breakfast at La Hiki. The atmosphere was bright and a perfect spot to start our day.

We were impressed by the wonderful layout of the buffet and the attention to detail that the staff put into the presentation of the food. For example, the large salad.

The large variety allowed us to enjoy the buffet every morning of our stay without getting tired of eating there every morning. There was something new to enjoy every day.

Having previously stayed in Waikiki before arriving at the Four Seasons Oahu, it was nice to be in serene location after the shopping and busy atmosphere of Waikiki.

The onsite chapel was located in a quiet section of the resort.

My blog on the Four Seasons Resort Maui will be divided into 3 parts to limit the length of the blog. This installment will focus on our arrival at the property and our room.

Upon arrival at the front entrance we were warmly greeted by the staff who welcomed us with a lei and a refreshing ginger and lemon drink along with pieces of pineapple.

As we arrived a little before check-in, we were provided access to the early arrival lounge where we were able to change into our swimsuits and wait by the pool (more on the pools in another blog) while waiting for our room to be ready. The bellman came to the lounge to collect our bags and would have them waiting in our room for us.

We were notified by text that our room was ready. We were ecstatic to discover that we had been upgraded to an Ocean View Premier Suite which was approximately 130m² in size (1,400 square feet). It had a fantastic view of the ocean over a peaceful garden from our spacious balcony.

Here is the living/dining room of the suite.

A little while after settling into our room, our Welcome Amenities arrived.

We had requested that we receive beer and were thrilled to receive samples from the Maui Brewing Co., it was great to taste some local flavour. Accompanying the beer were some non-alcoholic drinks and a large amount of fruits and snacks including cookies and different assortments of macadamia nuts.

Our suite had 2 bathrooms. The one below was closer to the front entrance.

The bathrooms had Lokahi brand amenities, including (and much needed) After-Sun Cooling Gel,

The bedroom was extremely spacious and equipped with a television, seating area, and access to the balcony.

The balcony ran the entire width of our suite with entrances off of the living room and bedroom. It also had 2 separate seating areas.

The closet for the bedroom was located in the small hallway leading to the master bathroom.

It had ample room for both of us. It included a safe, iron and ironing board, umbrella (thankfully not needed), and a yoga mat.

The light blue bag in the closet was there for us to use to bring items to the pool or beach. If we wanted to, we could purchase the bag for $90 USD.

Needless to say, our suite was amazing and easily one of the nicest rooms we stayed in while in Hawaii. The bed was extremely comfortable and the suite was extremely luxurious in every way. The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is definitely on our list of properties to visit again.

The Waldorf Astoria is a new luxury property that has really perfected the art of providing its guests with an elegant and pampered stay in the heart of Beverley Hills. From the moment you are greeted at the entrance and escorted to the reception desk through their beautifully laid out and decorated lobby, you are treated as a a VIP and feel as if they have been waiting specifically for you to arrive.

To the left of the reception desk, there is a small alcove with a seating area. This is a nice touch as it gives you a private place to have a conversation away from the main lobby:

To the rear of the lobby is a casual seating area where you can enjoy refreshemnts adn where some small events are held:

After checking-in, we were personally escorted through the lobby and up to our room. One very interesting deatail is that, as we were passing the clothing store on the way to the elevator, I almost bumped into President Bill Clinton as he was exiting the store. He then waited for the elevator with us (he of course took his own eleavtor with his security detail). This was an amazing experience and solidified my impression of the Waldorf Astoria Beveley Hills as one of, if not the, top prperties in the city.

Our room was on the 4th floor and was a Superior King Room. The room was very spacious and bright. The entire room was extremely clean and, being a very new property, everything in the room was in fantastic condition and clean. The King sized bed was very comfortable and the room included a desk and a small seating area between the bed and the terrace. Our terrace looked over Santa Monica Blvd. and, although it is quite a busy street, and we were only on the 4th floor, I can honestly say that we never noticed traffic noise while in our room.

The bathroom was wee laid out, and I am a real fan of having the toilet located in its' own separate space. The tub was deep and provided for a great soak at the end of the day. The bathroom amenities were Salvatore Ferragamo products.

After settling into our room we went for a little tour of the property which included the provate, and gorgeous, rooftop pool:

For Dinner we had, what I must say to be, one of the best meals and experiences we have enjoyed at a luxury hotel property. Everything that we experinces at Jean-Georges Beverley Hills at the Waldorf Astoria was perfect. The ambiance was the right blend, meaning that it eqully opens itself up to an intimate dinner setting and a place for friends to meet as well, The staff, especially our waiter, were all very personable annd took excellent care of us. The dishes themselves were prepared to perfection and tasted even better. We started with the Crispy Monterey Calamari and a salad, then the Roasted Maine Lobster and the Icelandic Salmon. We ended the evening with the exquisite chocolate souffle. So good...

Breakfast was also enjoyed at Jean-Georges; with dinner being so great, we had to see what breakfast would bring, and we were not disappointed. This time we sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the warm summer morning as we ate our breakfast. Again, the staff was excellent and the food was delicious.

To keep the excellent feeling of luxury and service going, even when you leave the property, they have a Roll Royce house car that will take you where you need to go around Beverly Hills (within a 2 mile radius).

We had an amazing experience at the Waldorf Astoria Beverley Hills and cannot emphasize enough how they seemed to have perfected a luxury property. The room, the on-site amenities, the restaurants, everything was excellent. But what really remains in my memory of our time there, is the staff. From the moment we stepped out of the car, and every step in between, we were treated as if we were special friends by every single staff memeber we encountered. We highly recommend, with full confidence, the Waldorf Astoria when staying in Beverley Hills.

Staying at the iconic Beverley Wilshire Hotel in Beverley Hills, California was made a little more special due to memories I had from watching the 1990 hit movie Pretty Woman. From seeing the grandeur and luxury of this property initially on the silver screen over 25 years ago, I could not wait to get there. In essence, that movie introduced me to the world of luxury hotels.

Walking down Wilshire Blvd toward the property, I instantly felt that I was in the heart of luxury, as the famous intersection of Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Blvd is right in front of the hotel.

Walking into the lobby was surreal. I was immediately drawn tot he fantastic floral centrepiece in the middle of the lobby with the spectaculr chadelier hanging above it. This centerpiece that separated the Front Desk Reception to my left and the Concierge Desk to my right. It's a small but effective use of the space so that guests can quickly receive the type of service they need without confusion.

The staff at the front desk staff was extremely attentive and welcoming and we were quickly and effieciently check-in and being personally escorted to our room. Four Seasons properties always seem to have excellent staff that provide some of the best customer service in the world of luxury hotels, and the staff at Beverley Wilshire were definitely of this calibre.

The Beverley Wilshire is split into two buildings with rooms in both. The main building, where reception and the concierge are located, also has their signature steak restaurant, "The Cut" (by Wolfgang Puck), as well as THE Blvd restaurant, an excellent venue with amazing food, service and indoor or outdoor (right on Wilshire Blvd) seating options. Our room was located in the adjacent building which could be easily accessed by walking thrrough their central driveway (between the buildings) or by going upstairs to an overhead walkway.

Our room was the One-Bedroom Beverly Suite. It was very spacious, with a floor plan that separated the bedroom from the bathroom with a large livingroom in between. The balcony outside was quite large and provided a nice of the the center of Beverley Hills and the Hollywood Hills off in the distance to our slight right. Here is the room:

As mentioned previously, the balcony in our room at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel was quite large and included comfortable seating to gaze over Beverley Hills and the Hollywood Hills:

Circled in red in the picture below is the famous Hollywood sign, although very far in the distance, it was still a treat to be able to seeit from the balcony. The tower in the center of the picture is Beverley Hill City Hall.

A safe, bath robes, and slippers were also provided in the room:

The bathroom was gorgeous and stacked with amenities by L'Occitane and Salvatore Ferragamo:

Overall, the room was very comfortable and we could not have asked for anything more. An added treat was the welcome amenity and the personalized note that was waiting for us when we arrived:

The facility at the Beverley Wilshire Hotel was absolutely fantastic, with a relaxing pool area that included a Pool Bar & Cafe:

For breakfast, we took adavntage of the great weather in Beverley Hills and chose seating at The Blvd Restaurant right on Wilshire Blvd overlooking the intersection of Wilshire and Rodeo Drive. It was a delicious meal enjoyed with great scenery:

For dinner, we had to experience the famous Cut Restaurant by Wolfgang Puck, and we were not disappointed:

Another great perk at the Beverley Wilshire Hotel is their car service that provides guests with free transportation within a 4km (2.5 mile) radius of the property:

We loved our stay at the Beverley Wilshire Hotel and definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a luxury accommodation with easy walkable access to everything the Beverley Hills has to offer.
